Puerto Rico’s Leadership Shift: From Standardization to Personalization

I spoke without a script, in Spanish and English, and began with my father: a Cornell-trained chemical engineer from Camagüey who became a musician, was abroad when the revolution began, and sold recording contracts country by country until he reached California and reinvented himself again. From there I argued that Puerto Rico's organizations must stop defining individuals and let individuals shape them, and that the island has plenty of resilience but needs more reinvention.
